Keeping Food Safe During An Emergency

WASHINGTON – May 2, 2010 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing recommendations to residents in the Southeast, throughout the Ohio Valley and into the New England area to prepare for severe weather and flooding. USDA is hopeful that this information will help minimize the potential for foodborne illnesses due to power outages and other problems that are often associated with severe weather events.
