The 2010 San Diego County Fair

The 2010 San Diego County Fair is over! What an event! This was the largest culinary event in the nation and I was involved in the 22 days of competitions and cooking demonstrations, including an ACF sanctioned competition and a military competition using Spam.

I did cooking demonstrations on Sausages and one on Sea Scallops while talking and keeping the audience of about 100 people interested, it is not easy to talk for an hour while cooking, it is not like the cooking shows on TV when they get a break every 15 minutes for a commercial.

I also judged a few competitions with some of my piers, that is not as easy as just eating the final dishes.

We had a lot of fun, and I met some very interesting people, including chefs, food blogger’s, TV producers, and other influential people.

And some very talented competitors from all over San Diego county.

I also won some competitions myself, and have received four different medals.
